The central building of the library is located at ul. "Ivanka Boteva № 2, next to the museum "Constituent Assembly". Within its territory is stored the largest collection of literature compared to the other three branches. Here we have a wide variety of scientific and artistic titles offered daily for the home. Users can also make good use of the extraordinarily rich media of information - books, periodicals, cartographic publications, reference books, single sheets - arranged in the building's two repositories as well as in the reading rooms. In addition to the rich collections of newer deposit titles, the number of works published before 1944 is also impressive. As all of these are rare and valuable editions, it is customary to use them only locally.
As far as fiction titles are concerned, the crime and love genres definitely rank among the most sought-after by readers. As for scientific and popular literature, among the most borrowed works are books on pedagogy; theory and methodology of education for different age groups; law; history of Bulgaria; history of different countries; biographies and memoirs of various prominent personalities - Bulgarian or foreign.
In the main hall of the "Service" department every visitor registered with a card could use within one hour the resources of two computer configurations. They offer free access to the Internet mainly for scientific and self-educational purposes. If the need arises, with the help of library staff, the resources offered by the printer-copier located in the hall can also be used.
In addition, the book-cleaning machine in the main hall, installed in February 2020, is undoubtedly an important asset for the department.
