In November 2006, four large public libraries launched the project "Network of regional libraries for the storage of rare and particularly significant collections through the use of new and more effective methods", financed by the Ministry of Education and Science under the Program "Research of the national cultural and historical values as part of the European cultural heritage and modern methods of their preservation".

The consolidated catalog "Old Printed, Rare and Valuable Editions" provides information on manuscript and old printed library collections through more than 2,500 bibliographic descriptions. It reflects all the features of the editions related to endowment funds, bookplates, autographs, handwritten notes and dedications, physical features such as missing pages, cover images, title pages, bibliographic descriptions from various sources.
