The Digital Club at the “P. R. Slaveykov” Regional Library in Veliko Tarnovo was established as part of the project “The Regional Library—A Partner in the Information Age,” implemented with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and funded by the European Union through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The project aims to improve citizens’ digital skills and ensure equal access to modern information technologies, e-services, and learning opportunities. As part of the initiative, a modern space was established at the “Slaveyche” Library and Information Center, equipped with seven computer workstations featuring high-tech configurations and a professional copying system. The premises were also completely renovated, creating a comfortable and functional environment for learning and work.
The Digital Club provides opportunities to acquire and develop digital skills through training, hands-on activities, and access to educational resources. It is open to people of all ages and social groups—schoolchildren, college students, working people, the unemployed, retirees, and all citizens who wish to improve their knowledge and skills in the field of digital technologies.
The club’s main activities include providing guidance on using electronic administrative services, assisting with online platforms, participating in free training sessions, and providing a suitable environment for distance learning and taking exams. The space will also be used for informational meetings, seminars, and events related to digital literacy and the development of modern skills.
The Digital Club is actively participating in the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy’s national “Digital Enlightener” campaign, which aims to promote opportunities for free training and the acquisition of new knowledge through e-training vouchers. Through this initiative, citizens can obtain information about various forms of training, development programs, and opportunities to enhance their qualifications.
The creation of the Digital Club is an important step toward transforming the library into a modern educational and information center that supports lifelong learning, social inclusion, and citizens’ active participation in the digital society.
