On September 8, 1869 in Veliko Tarnovo in the building of the main school at the church "St. On the 8th of September, at St. Mary's Church, an association was founded, which was called "Women's Community".
The emergence of an association that would unite the efforts of the women of Tarnovo and give a formal, public character to their thirst and readiness for public presence was largely due to Evgenia Kisimova. The act by which she established herself as a prominent figure in the public life of the city was linked to the idea of a women's movement and women's independent participation in the spiritual and educational sphere.
The idea originated in 1869. In the beginning, for a short period of time, it existed in the form of a "general women's fund". Because when on September 8 of the same year in the building of the main school at the church "St. "This is also the purpose of our already opened Women's Treasury, which, God willing, from its proceeds we may be able to set up girls' schools and maintain at least one head teacher who will teach the girls the necessary sciences of the bar..."
Thus, with the help of other Turnovo women, in September 1869 Evgenia Kisimova succeeded in founding an association which was called the "Women's Community".
The first leadership of the "Women's Community" was composed of - trustee Evgenia Kisimova, treasurer - Vintia St. Sarafideva, scribe - Ivanka x. Petkova, spiritual father - Protonotary Dimitar.
The women founders of the "Women's Community" who turned out at the meeting on September 8, 1869 were 32, who immediately donated a sum of 6752 groschen. Later the number of women increased to 95 members. The sums collected went to maintain the town's girls' school in Tarnovo.
Part of the initiatives of the "Women's Community" was the "Sunday School" in Tarnovo organized by its members. The event is associated with the Church of St. Constantine", where the opportunity to hold classes is provided. Girls were sent to continue their education abroad - in Russia and Romania.
In a short period of time, the "Women's Community" reached the status of one of the centers of attraction for spiritual and educational life in Tarnovo.
