The Information Technology Department is an integral part of the Regional Library structure.
Its main task is to develop and maintain the information and communication infrastructure of the organization, to support its efficiency and to help improve the technological competence of the employees. This includes activities such as hardware and software staffing of office and user workstations, maintenance of the server park to ensure the availability and stability of library services, organisational and technical support for events, and workflow optimisation.
The department's duties also include a number of additional activities, such as the digitisation of written and visual cultural heritage objects, maintenance of the Digital Library, the website and the profiles in various social networks, technological and consultative assistance to the specialists of the regional library network, design and printing of promotional materials, prepress preparation within the framework of publishing activities, etc.
Employees of the department are also actively involved in the implementation of numerous national and European projects. They take part as lecturers in training courses organised by the library or external organisations, and act as mentors to students in the framework of their study practices.
