On November 14 and 15, 2024 Regional Library "P. R. Slaveykov" hosts for the twenty-third time in a row the National scientific conference with international participation "Libraries - reading - communications". This year RL "P. R. Slaveykov" also celebrates its 135th anniversary since its establishment.
The theme of the conference is "Information Assurance in the Face of Artificial Intelligence Challenges" and includes more than 30 papers from Bulgarian and foreign participants. Co-organizers of the conference are Veliko Tarnovo University "St. St. Cyril and Methodius and the University of Library Science and Information Technology. The first day of the conference was held in the large hall of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, and the second day was in the reading room of the library. The evening of 14 November was celebrated with a concert by the Stancel Stancel from Alba, Romania.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the library was prepared an exhibition "135 years of the Public Library", which reflects the development of the library from its establishment until today. It includes the most important and significant facts, events, projects, etc. which reflect the activities of the institution over time.
The scientific forum is under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture.
