The two books, recently released on the book market and dedicated to the centenary of Etar, were presented within the rich program "Foyer of the Book", organized by the Regional Library "Petko R. Slavejkov" - Veliko Tarnovo, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of V. Tarnovo, the University of Transport "St. St. St. Cyril and Methodius and the Bulgarian Book Association.
The editions are "24 Steps to History. 100 years of Etar - the "violet" memory in photos, articles and documents by Anatoly Petrov and "100 years of Etar" - history of football in Veliko Tarnovo by Angel Gantsarov. They were presented by the sports journalist and manager of OP "Sports Estates and Events" Petko Pavlov. 100 years of "Etar" is in 24 chapters and traces the entire development of the team from its founding until today. It tells about the first match played, the creation and placement of the emblem, the colors of the first club team. Among the curious discoveries is the fact that "Etar" is actually named after a Thracian god. The first statute of the club, which is kept in the State Archives, was also published. In the course of the work Anatoly Petrov has studied the entire press from the 1920s. He also tells many memories of the old families of Tarnovo, about their glorious grandfathers and fathers, who built the name of football in the city, as well as memories of the veterans - Georgi Tsingov, Boncho Genchev, Krasimir Balakov, Georgi Vassilev, Nikola Iliev, Kolyo Krastev, Stefan Chakarov and others. 100 years of Etar - history of football in Veliko Tarnovo by Angel Gantsarov is in 448 pages. It includes a lot of statistical data and 629 photos, 59 of which are in color. They are team photos of the violet team and from football matches. The book tells not only about FC Eter, but also about the whole history of football in the town since 115 years; about the appearance of the first football in 1909 until the last matches. Attention is paid to women's football and the children's and youth team. The event today was attended by Boncho Genchev, football player of "Etar", part of the national team that won bronze medals at the World Football Championship in the USA in '94, the first Bulgarian to play in the English Premier League; Deyan Kuzdov, the current president of FC "Etar"; Yordan Grozdanov, president of the women's football team "Bolyarki", Rumyana Nacheva, long-time sports journalist and many sports figures. Deyan Kuzdov presented Gantsarov, Pavlov and Petrov with a commemorative team, which the management of FC Etar has returned for this season, along with the first emblem from 1924, as well as a limited edition commemorative badge on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the violet team. Rumi Nacheva, who is the president of the International Contest "Silver Yantra" and of the DES "Rumina", and knows the musical predilections of her colleagues - Anatoly Petrov is an admirer of the Russian bard Vladimir Vysotsky and wrote a book about him, and Angel Gantsarov of rock music, gave them medals on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the MC. Part of the event today was an exhibition of archival photos and documents related to the history of "Eter" and a documentary about the "violets", prepared by the doyen of sports journalism Angel Gantsarov.
